The State University of Zanzibar, SUZA admission 2023 period has come; this is one of the most essential times of the year to students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA).

The State University of Zanzibar invites applications for admission from qualified candidates into Undergraduate Programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.  In this academic year, the University will offer a total of 102 Undergraduate Degree Programmes.

All requisite information and guidelines to assist in the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. i.e., UNDERGRADUATE tab for those applying for Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor Degrees.

Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE) including index numbers when prompted.

Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at: www.necta.go.tz. NECTA will issue them letters showing equivalence numbers and grades. Applicants with equivalent qualifications (e.g., holders of diplomas and certificates) are advised to obtain an award verification number (AVN) from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) at

www.necta.go.tz

PBZ Mobile App

  1. Log into PBZ Mobile APP
  2. Go to Government Services  Menu
  3. Select Union
  4. Type your Control/Code Number
  5. Select Send

Step 2: Read Entry Requirements

COMPUTER SCIENCES(DCS)

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass. A Pass in Mathematics is compulsory at least in O-level.

OR

2. A Certificate in Computing Technology, ICT, IT with accounting, Banking and any other related field recognized by NACTE, NECTA or any higher learning Institution with a PASS, also the candidate should have four passes at O’ level.where mathematic is compulsory.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY(DIT)

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass. A Pass in English/Mathematic is compulsory at O’ level.

OR

2. A Certificate in Computing Technology, ICT, Computer Science, IT with accounting and any related field recognized by NACTE, NECTA or any higher learning Institution with a PASS, also the candidate should have four passes at O’ level.
SOCIAL WORK(ODSW).

DURATION = 3 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with not less than four (4) “Ds” A pass in English is an added advantage.
SOCIAL WORK(DSW)

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one Principle pass.

    OR

2. A Certificate in the fields of Social Work, Social Welfare, Teaching, Youth Work, Rural Development, Nursing, Community Development, and Medical Assistant, Languages or any other related field with a PASS. The candidate should also have four passes at O’ level.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT SCIENCES (OPESS)  

DURATION = 3 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

The applicant who applies for the PESS program should meet the following requirements:

1. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with not less than four passes (4) ‘D’ excluding Religious subjects. A pass in Biology is an added advantage.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT SCIENCES (PESS) .

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass. A pass in Biology is an added advantage.

    OR

2. A certificate in Physical Education (PE), Sports, Education, or any other related field with a PASS or equivalent from any recognized Institution.

   PLUS

3. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four passes “D” excluding Religious subjects.

DIPLOMA

INCLUSIVE AND SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION (ODISNE).

DURATION = 3 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with not less than four (4) ‘Ds’ excluding Religious subjects. A pass in English is added advantage.
INCLUSIVE AND SPECIAL  NEEDS EDUCATION (DISNE).

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass in any subject.

OR

2. Grade III A teacher. The applicant MUST also have an ‘O’ level certificate with not less than four (4) ‘Ds’

OR

3. Any recognized Certificate in Education, Special Needs Education, Psychology, Guidance and counselling and any related field from recognize institution.
LIBRARIANSHIP AND INFORMATION STUDIES (DLIS).

DURATION = 2 YEARS

ENTRY QUALIFICATION:

1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass.

    OR

2. A recognized Certificate in Librarianship, Record Management, Human Resource, Education, ICT and any other related field with at least a PASS from recognized institutions.
