The Ardhi University invites applications for admission from qualified candidates into Undergraduate Programmes for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.  In this academic year, the University will offer a total of 102 Undergraduate Degree Programmes.

All requisite information and guidelines to assist in the application stages are provided from the respective Instructions tab. i.e., UNDERGRADUATE tab for those applying for Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor Degrees.

Applicants are reminded to register their names as they appear in Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE) including index numbers when prompted.

Undergraduate applicants with foreign certificates are required to first present their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for verification at: www.necta.go.tz. NECTA will issue them letters showing equivalence numbers and grades. Applicants with equivalent qualifications (e.g., holders of diplomas and certificates) are advised to obtain an award verification number (AVN) from the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) at

www.necta.go.tz

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (BSc URP)

i) Direct entry (Form VI) Qualification
Two principal passes in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Advanced Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Commerce or Accountancy. In addition, an applicant must have at a least a subsidiary pass in Advanced Mathematics at A-Level or at least “D” grade in Mathematics at O-Level.

ii) Equivalent Qualifications
Diploma or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Rural Development with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Duration: Four years (8 Semesters)

Department: Urban and Regional Planning (URP)

Key areas of competencies

  • Map preparations, Real estate design / Site planning including preparation of models
  • Planning and design of satellite towns.
  • Preparation of general planning schemes
  • Preparation of institutions Master plan like, Universities, Schools, and other institutions.
  • Preparation of special economic zones master plan, Preparation of industrial complexes plans.
  • Preparation of Town planning drawing/ Neighbourhood planning, urban development control.

  • Email Address
  • Mobile Telephone Number
  • To finalize registration, you will need to put in a password of your choice that you will use whenever you wish to log into the admission system.

How to apply online ARU 2022

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR VARIOUS PROGRAMMES AT ARDHI UNIVERSITY

Step 1: Registration for an admission account

  1. Create an account in Admission System (admission.aru.ac.tz) by clicking the Create Account button. Note: to create an account in admission system you will need the following details
    1. Where did you complete your O-level secondary education? (In Tanzania OR in Overseas/International School).
      N.B:

      1. If you completed your O-level secondary level education in Tanzania then, you must enter your NECTA Form 4 Index Number
      2. For applicants with multiple sittings, make sure you use your first sitting NECTA form 4 index no.
      3. If you have studied your O-level secondary level education abroad then, you must enter your NECTA equivalence number.
  2. Please confirm that the index number you provided matches the name retrieved from NECTA
  3. To finalize registration you will need to enter email address, mobile number and password.
    Then click the “Register account” button on your right hand side to create an account.

    1. If you are successfully registered, then the system will send you an activation code via registered mobile phone number.
    2. Use the activation code to complete your registration process.

Step 2: Make Application

    1. After you have successfully logged in to your account you will be presented with five[5] steps to finish your application.
      • 1: Basic Details.
        Follow the basic details form to enter your information
      • 2: Educational Background.
        N.B:
        If you have multiple O-Level or A-Level sittings, make sure you enter all your NECTA index numbers for results from your multiple sittings to be used in the selection process.

        If you are a holder of an ordinary diploma or you have equivalent qualifications make sure you enter your AVN number from NACTVET.

      • If you have studied your A-level education abroad then, you must enter your NECTA equivalence number.
    • 3: Application Fee
    • Use the reference number shown to pay application fee amounting to TSH. 10,000/= by using mobile money services i.e. Mpesa, Tigopesa, Airtelmoney etc. The application fee is non-refundable.
    • 4: Program Selection.
    • Select the programme of your choice from first choice up to fourth choice as shown on the programme application form
    • 5: Application Submission.
    • Confirm the selected programme and submit your application.
