You have the option of attending one of the two ceremony periods immediately after your original graduation date. You can nominate a later graduation period on your ‘Conditional Graduation Application form’.

If you choose a later ceremony, check your student email for your invitation closer to the date.

UQ graduation 2023 tickets

Reed Graduations will email you on 6 July 2023 with instructions about how to order guest tickets.

The number of guest tickets allocated for each ceremony depends on the number of graduates attending and the capacity of the venue.

All tickets are free of charge and seating is unallocated. Please note that children under 2 may sit on the lap of a ticketed guest.

Graduates and guests who are currently experiencing a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath should not attend the ceremony. Friends and family who are unable to attend in person can still watch your ceremony via live stream on their own device.

Photography and live stream

Sharing your achievements with your family and friends is an important part of your graduation day.

During the ceremony, each graduand is individually photographed by Silver Rose Photography, UQ’s official photographers. This includes when you cross the stage toward the Presiding Officer and raise your left hand to your mortar board or bonnet.

No other commercial photographers are allowed inside the venue, and guests and graduands aren’t allowed to take flash photographs during the ceremony.

Once you leave the stage, you will be told how to order official photographs of your ceremony.

You can also have graduation portraits taken before or after your ceremony. Photography studios are located in the Great Court.
