Morogoro Saving the Poor Organization (MOSAPORG)

Position: Accountant x1 (Volunteer)
Location: Morogoro Mjini Morogoro
Report to: Program Director

Description:

ADVERTISEMENT
  1. Prepare MOSAPORG
  2. Prepare payment requests and obtain appropriate approvals and
  3. Processing of payment vouchers and passing journal vouchers.
  4. Preparation of Cash Books.
  5. Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement.
  6. Responsible for maintaining the Fixed Assets register.
  7. Prepare the financial reports according to the Donors Requirements.
  8. Review Journal and Payment Vouchers ensuring they are adequately supported, properly classified and allocated to appropriate program and overhead accounts before posting.
  9. Review, monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, other than staff advances, and payable ensuring they are settled and cleared from the books.
  10. Prepare supporting documents required for financial statements submissions to Executive Director.
  11. Ensure all soft copy reports (sent to Executive Director) are properly kept in the Financial Report files.
  12. Assist in the preparation of online payments.
  13. Be an alternate MOSAPORG agent in dealing with bank.
  14. Provide requisite cooperation with external auditors and organizations undertaking audits and/or financial reviews.
  15. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  16. Participate in staff orientation, training, development, and team-building for all staff within and outside the department.
  17. Act as Internal Auditor.
  18. Carry out other duties assigned by the Program Director .

Academic and/or Professional Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce: or holder of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.

Experience:

  1. At least One year of progressively responsible experience in Projects Management, including at least one year working with non-profit organizations or Fresh Graduates .

Skills:

  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, such as Quick Books, ACCPAC, etc.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of Project management.
  • Ability to Collect Data and Analyzing Data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and report presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Applicant Must Live in Morogoro

Position: Program Coordinator

Program Coordinator x1 (Volunteer)
Location: Morogoro Mjini Morogoro
Report to: Program Director

Description:

  1. Prepare MOSAPORG Programmes Descriptions, Work Plans and Budgeting.
  2. Take active part in MOSAPORG strategic plan and annual plan development processes and facilitate their implementation
  3. Mobilize, sensitize, organize and empower communities in MOSAPORG Programmes activities.
  4. Facilitate Public Private Partnership (PPP) Activities in supporting MOSAPORG activities.
  5. Link MOSAPORG with the Different Networks and other Stakeholders.
  6. Develop capacities of Community Development Facilitators, community based organizations and local government institutions.
  7. Facilitate various Training, Seminars,Workshops and other activities
  8. Monitor and supervise implementation of programs/projects and take active part in review and evaluation of programs/projects.
  9. Preparing different MOSAPORG Monthly Success Stories
  10. Prepare periodic and annual reports.
  11. Represents MOSAPORG in various Trainings, Seminars or any other Meetings.
  12. Support and facilitate formation and strengthening of networks of organizations of people living in poverty in the areas covered by MOSAPORG
  13. Take active part in research activities on selected issues affecting people living in poverty and advocate for changes in policies and practices.
  14. Prepare all Reports to be submitted to the Local Government Authorities.
  15. Filling TACAIDS TOMSHA Forms and Submit to the Local Government Authorities.
  16. Take active part in developing concept notes and proposals for fund raising.
  17. Participate in staff orientation, training, development, and team-building for all staff within and outside the Organization.
  18. Carry out other duties assigned by the Senior Program Manager.

Academic and/or Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Sociology, Rural Development, Social Work or Community Development : or holder of Diploma in Social Work or Community Development.
  • Experience
  • At least One year of progressively responsible experience in Projects Management, including at least one year working with non-profit organizations or Fresh Graduates .
  • Knowledge of Project management.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, such as SPSS, STATA, etc.
  • Ability to Collect Data and Analyzing Data.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and report presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Applicant Must Live in Morogoro
